*waves* Hey y'all! Hope everyone is staying cool while in all this heat! :) Sooo, I made a batch of soap yesterday and decided to do, yes, another Lavender Escapade sort of thing. I brewed a tea (lavender and rosemary), grabbed some goatsmilk and went from there.
Ok so I did the normal heating oils and letting the lye mixture cool, which actually took a bit of time to do because of the heat. It was actually interesting because the tea seemed to seperate from the goats milk but the lye was mixed well. I had made the tea and goats milk mixture a couple of weeks ago and had to freeze it because a storm was coming which made it easier to work with when I added the lye.
Anyhow, I get pour the lye into the oils, got them mixed, separated, and did the color slightly different this time. Instead of totally mixing the color in, I did a swirl in the bowls and began to pour it in layers.

Here's the Green which is supposed to symbolize the Rosemary. |
The purple, which of course symbolizes the lavender. |
I continued to layer, as you can tell it was at a thick trace at this point. |
And the purple... |
So I swirled just a wee bit more to give it a slight texture up top. |
I went in this morning to check on it and I was pleased with the look of it.
The purple kinda has a blue tint slightly but I like it. :) |
So I cut it in half! I absolutely love it! |
All cut up! Isn't it lovely? I love the colors of this. I am not sure I care too much for the smell though. I did a Lavender Rosemary scent combination, so we'll have to see what it smells like in the next week or so. |
Well there you have it. The last of the Lavender Escapades set. :) I have to run and get a couple of things done, but will try to blog again today. :) Stay cool!!
Suds & Bubbles,
Soapy
